AeroCamp
Start a whole new adventure!
AeroCamp is designed to give young people a unique opportunity to explore the vast and exciting world of aviation and aerospace at their local airport during summer break. As a member of the Flight School Association of North America, Air-Mods Flight Center is proud to participate in the AeroCamp Program and make AeroCamp available to the kids in our community.
Campers learn firsthand about the dynamics of airplanes and flight and about the broad spectrum of careers in the aviation and aerospace industry. We give every camper the opportunity to fly an aircraft if they choose to. However, flight time is only a fraction of the AeroCamp experience and is not required to have a great learning adventure.
Air-Mods Flight Center is a family owned operation with a warm and welcoming kid-friendly atmosphere. You will most likely see some of ours running around!
There are three levels of camp available: Basic, Advanced, and Pilot Prep. Each level is based on age, knowledge and interest in the field of aviation. Generally, Basic Camp is suitable for students entering grades 6-8 and Advanced Camp is suitable for those entering grades 9-12. For those more serious about learning to fly, wishing to either prepare for the written exam or their first solo, the Pilot Prep Camp with additional Solo Prep time is recommended.
Each camper will receive a t-shirt, a WaterBobble©, logbook, curriculum, and certificate upon completion of camp.
Basic Camp
Basic Camp is the best choice for those entering grades 6-8. The curriculum includes learning about airplanes and how they fly, learning about basic instruments and what they do, touring aviation facilities, learning how to conduct a preflight inspection, safety procedures and safe practices. Each camper will get time on our flight simulator, about one logable flight hour in the air, and a flying field trip!
Advanced Camp
Advanced Camp is the best choice for those entering grades 9-12, have an interest in aviation, and want to explore aviation futher. The curriculum includes a recap of all the basics, information on radio communications and traffic patterns and the campers will perform preflight inspections, plan a cross county flight, and execute it! There will be about 3 logable flight hours and a flying field trip!
Pilot Prep Camp
Pilot Prep Camp is a great option for those campers, 16 years of age or older, who are more serious about acquiring a private pilots license. This course is double the amount of time and includes a curriculum that will prepare the camper for their written exam. There is also an additional option to add 15 hours of flight time to this camp. Over the course, the camper will fly two additional hours with an instructor in preparation for their big day - their first solo flight! They have the opportunity to complete in two weeks what normally takes a student 2-6 months. This option also saves $200 in rentals and instruction as compared to our normal rates. This is the best value for a new student!
